Getting there from Kyiv
Vasylkivski Karpaty is 35 km from central Kyiv and 25 km from the city boundary. Two routes work: the Novobukhivska highway (E95) with the exit to Velyka Buhaiivka, or the Odessa highway (M05) via Vasylkiv.
Finding the actual spot
Search for the "Ukrainian Iceland" pin on Google Maps near Velyka Buhaiivka rather than the official name — that is what most visitors navigate by. There is no signage on site: no boards, no protection markers.
There are no marked trails either — this is not a landscaped park but a balka of ravines and slopes. Bring suitable footwear and work out your route on the ground, following the terrain.
